Telerobotics - Basics
Manipulators- Robot Arms
Work Class ROV
Eyeball Class ROV

The Low cost Eyeball Class Telerobots are mostly used for inshore operations where the marketplace is more cost sensitive than in the offshore sector. These ROVs are less capable and have lower depth ratings (typically 100 m ) than their offshore counterparts, and are required to operate from small boats or even fish farm cage pontoons. Very often the task requirement in the inshore environment is more demanding than offshore, added to which the client-supplied facilities are often non-existent.
Inshore tasks can require a variety of types of deployment vessel ranging from small marine research craft through even smaller work boats to fully amphipious vehicles. The latter class allows access to remote inland or coastal sites combined with in- water operation. In all cases the absence of the offshore vessel's"Dynamic Positioning" systems and accoustic positioning equipment makes anchoring a must, bringing with it another set of operational restrictions.
